Dana Riddell relocated from the Philadelphia area in Pennsylvania to Lake Placid, Florida in 2013. She began her career in the Zoning Department of the Highlands County Board of County Commissioners in 2016, where she learned she had a passion for guiding the development of the community to achieve economic, social, and racial equity. Concepts like diverse housing, sustainability, resiliency, and social justice inspired her to pursue the land planning profession and make a positive contribution for the economic environment of Highlands County, Florida. After 5 years of progressively responsible work, and in need of a challenge, she accepted a senior position with the Central Florida Regional Planning Council, where the majority of her time was divided between projects and daily planning activities involving, the Town of Lake Placid, the City of Sebring, the City of Avon Park, the City of Frostproof, and Polk City. She worked at the Region for two years before being asked to work as the Planning Director for the Town of Lake Placid, where she remains today. With a lingering hunger to stimulate Highlands County’s growth, and in her spare time, she started Stonehenge Land Development Consultants in 2023 to work alongside developers to achieve Future Land Use and zoning approvals that benefit both private developers and the public interest. Stonehenge LDC acquired its name from Dana's father's business, Stonehenge Construction Co., based out of Chester County, Pennsylvania.
